Yum List

I've always had a knack for good finds. Those cheap ones spotted in the village bazaar or in a cramped, hidden store in Cubao. Oh, the thrill it gives makes me feel alive as if the hunt were a form of art; as if I were a form of Picasso. Good finds, good buys. That’s what I live for. Whether it be clothes, furniture, accessories, or food. Or especially food.

As food’s the key to my sanity, I’m taking a moment to preserve the art of good-food-treasure-hunt.

These days spunky restos crowd the metro. With attention-grabbing names, lights, and interior designs, we’re drawn to their aesthetics. Some restaurants these days are not even about food anymore, but about ambiance. Of course, they’re great for adventure, comfort, and romance, but sometimes authentic goodness is found in the unassuming.

Now, I’d like to delight the palate and explore those venues, regardless of its color, height, size, and looks, that serve really, really, really good food. We’re going back to the basics here. To begin, here’s my yummy list. For suggestions, go ahead and add to my list!
